Paul married the former Missy King on May 23, 1986, and they have two children: Katherine "Katie" Davis, a senior at The University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS; and John Davis, a Junior at Meridian High School, Meridian, MS.

Paul graduated high school in 1983 from East Holmes Academy in West, MS, and attended Holmes Junior College in Goodman, MS. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Church Music Administration with a minor in Bible in 1992 from Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, MS. His wife Missy graduated from Hardin County High School, Savannah, TN in 1982 and received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Blue Mountain College in 1985. Paul has also attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans in pursuit of his Master of Divinity.

Paul has also served on staff as Organist at FBC, Lexington, MS (1983-1984); Minster of Music and Youth, Evansville Baptist Church, Senatobia, MS (1984); Minister of Music and Youth, Ingomar Baptist Church, New Albany, MS (1984-1986); Minister of Music & Associate Pastor, FBC Okolona, MS (1986-1992).

Paul has worked with the Mississippi Baptist Convention as a Sunday School equipper and as a retreat leader for children's camps at Central Hills Camp, Kosciusko, MS and the former Gulfshores Baptist Assembly, Pass Christian, MS.

Paul currently serves on the Leadership Board of the District 5 Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has served on the regional board with Relay for Life and 1st Tee.
